Llun: The Phil Harmonics

The Phil Harmonics, a rock and pop choir based in Llanelli, have raised a fantastic £3,000 for the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Prince Phillip Hospital.

The choir held its annual Gala on 1st July at the Diplomat Hotel in Llanelli to raise the funds.

Sarah Mair, Founder of the Choir, said: “I set up the choir nine years ago specifically to raise money for charities and have some fun.

“The theme of this year’s Gala was ‘The Rhythm of the Night’ and we showcased songs from the 50’s to now. It was great fun with lots of audience participation.

“The preparation was hard work, with many practices and dress rehearsals, but it’s all worth it when you see how much fun everyone is having whilst raising money for good causes.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to all the local businesses and individuals who supported our charity evening by donating raffle prizes, and the Diplomat Hotel for hosting us.”

Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
