Dear Editor

Suffer at leisure

Of course not all of our political representatives are scientifically, engineering, technologically and numerically inept – mainly those who are the decision makers and the rest, ovine like, following the party line. This surely has to be the reason why most politicians are not vociferous in demanding an end immediately to the utter folly of large scale wind and solar generation in the UK and our ever increasing power bills. The current UK peak demand is 47GW and to satisfy this need by wind generation would require 23,500, 2MW wind generators all working at MAXIMUM output. But in the real world 2MW wind generators are not 100%, and thus a much more meaningful figure would be of the order of 94,000 generators – realising of course, on that cold frosty winter’s night when there is no wind, 94,000 generators will be 0% efficient. Currently there are a total of 11,000 onshore and offshore generators – so if you fancy being surrounded by large wind generators and the reality of the lights going out, just sit on your hands and you will soon be in the dark – it really is down to you dear reader – protest now or suffer at leisure.
