Principality Building Society are delighted to share that applications for the third Future Generations Fund in partnership with Community Foundation Wales are now being accepted. The fund provides financial grants to community groups and social projects across Wales and is delivered in partnership with Community Foundation Wales.
A £300,000 fund will be made available in this cycle, with grants of up to £25,000 available, taking the total of donations made by Principality past the £1m milestone , since the Future Generations Fund was launched in 2022.
The fund will look to support young people preparing for the world of work, financial education, mental health support and skills for sustainable living. There will also be a focus on ensuring that young people are getting access to healthy food and other essential items including clothes, stationery and technology. The fund will be open to applications from 18th September 2023 via the Community Foundation Wales website and will close on 2nd November 2023.
Tony Smith, Chief Governance Officer at Principality Building Society, said: “We’re really proud of the number of people we’ve been able to help since the Future Generations Fund was launched. The stories and projects are inspiring, as are the people who work hard in their communities to support these much needed initiatives.
“We recognise the pressures facing so many community groups given the ongoing cost of living crisis, and that is why we’ve made the decision to make grants available of up to £25,000 in this latest round of funding. This fund will also allow those projects that were successful in the first iteration of the Future Generations Fund to reapply for further funding should they have a project or programme which fits the criteria.”
Richard Williams, Chief Executive of Community Foundation Wales, said: “The Principality Future Generations Fund has already supported a number of groups with funding towards projects supporting young people with financial education, careers skills, mental health services, and environmental projects. We are delighted to be working with the Principality Building Society to open the fund for another round, providing much needed support to young people in the ongoing cost of living crisis.”
