Research conducted by camping and outdoor expert brand Khyam has revealed the top 14 pub walks across the UK where weary walkers can rest with a good pint, good food, and a roaring fire at the end. They’re also dog-friendly, so you’ll be able to take your furry friends along for the journey.
Compiling a list of the best walks across Wales, the team identified local pubs that serve as a way/endpoint along each route.
They then looked at Trip Advisor Scores and compared total review numbers with the number of ‘Excellent’ reviews to find the best experiences. Trip Advisor reviews were also used to determine if the pubs had a real fire and if the location was dog-friendly.
While the ranking has been determined by the pub experience, the list also provides a wide variety of walks of varying lengths and difficulty levels so there is something for all walking fans. No matter which walk you choose, you’ll be safe in the knowledge that a warm fire and a cool pint or hot cup of tea will be waiting for you at the end.

‘As the weather starts to turn colder, many people across the UK find it difficult to head out and explore. Staying active during Autumn and Winter can be difficult, so we decided to pull this list together to help walkers of all abilities find some really amazing routes to explore.
And a wonderfully warm and cosy pub after a long branching walk is a great incentive! The added bonus of knowing the locations are dog-friendly ensures that our furry friends won’t be left out in the cold, so they can be taken along as well.
We also hope that it will help highlight some truly amazing country pubs. Many have weathered some significant challenges in recent years and they deserve to be celebrated’.
