The ConXtions LGBTQIA+ Project will be launching at Carmarthenshire Winter Pride which is being held in Kidwelly. This National Lottery Community funded project aims to build connections throughout the community, organise awareness events and support grass roots LGBTQIA+ organisations.
The Winter Pride will be held on Saturday 25thth November, between 10am and 3pm at The Princess Gwenllian Centre in Kidwelly and has a theme, Pride and Dignity.
ConXtions is managed by CETMA, a Carmarthenshire based Social Enterprise, and Keith Evans the ConXtions Project Manager said:
“After the success of last year’s Winter Pride in Carmarthen, we knew that we had to build on it by organising another one and also launch the ConXtions Project.”
“This year, we’re having Pride and Dignity as the theme, to support all members of the LGBTQIA+ Community. Feedback from our consultation activity indicates a growing level of concern about several negative UK political comments and negative social media. We aim to counter these feelings by holding our event – empowering individuals to be their authentic selves.”
“The event will include a wide range of stall holders from other groups and societies and gives the LGBTQ+ (and allies) community a great opportunity to engage with other LGBTQ+ people.”
“Pride and Dignity will provide space for local and wider organisations and LGBTQ+ owned businesses to display their opportunities, and support for the LGBTQ+ community. In the current political climate it’s particularly helpful for Community Cohesion to facilitate safe spaces and events for all members of our community.”
The event is open everyone, with no cost for entry, and parking is easily available in local car parks. If anyone has any questions or would like to book a stall at this event, please contact the
