Mumbles Rangers 2 – Penrhiwceiber Rangers AFC 1

Mumbles Rangers secured a home win against their high flying visitors in this Friday evening encounter under the lights of the Swansea University Stadium in Sketty.

Both sides, officials and supporters observed a minute silence before the game to mark the armistice remembrance.

Penrhiewceiber started the game in lively fashion and it took some resolute defending from Mumbles to keep their visitors at bay, even making a last ditch goal line clearance.

At the other end Mumbles Rangers threatened their visitors goal with their counter attacks. Mumbles Rangers captain Lee Trundle with midfielders Jake Simeone and Jordan Lloyd- Evans were continually probing the visitors defence and looking to create an opening for young pacey forward Joseph Pelosi.

The game appeared frantic with neither side getting control and the game remained goalless at half time.

The second half started as the first half had ended but just after the hour mark Mumbles Rangers put some intricate passes together. Lee Trundle timed a well weighted pass to Jordan Lloyd-Evans who drew the defender and keeper to square the ball a across the six yards box for Joe Pelosi to slot the ball into the unguarded goal. 1-0

Four minutes later Mumbles extended their lead when Lee Bevan played in Joe Pelosi on goal and the young forward scored with a delightful low shot into the corner of the opposition net to double their lead and grip on the game. 2-0.

The visitors tried to haul themselves back into the game and in stoppage time Joseph Jenkins pulled a goal back with a fierce rifled shot into the Rangers net 2-1.

Rangers saw the game out to the final whistle and celebrated their deserved victory.
