Theatrau Sir Gâr is delighted to welcome back Lighthouse Theatre this December as their magical festive production, A Christmas Carol – A Live Radio Play takes to the stage at Ammanford’s Glowyr on Monday 4th December at 7:30pm, and Ffwrnes, Llanelli on Wednesday 6th December at 7:30pm.
Following Lighthouse Theatre’s success with productions of It’s A Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street, their Theatrau Sir Gâr shows will form part of their winter tour of Wales, with their magical re-telling of Charles Dickens’ festive classic, A Christmas Carol.
Set in a 1940s New York live broadcasting studio, A Christmas Carol – A Live Radio Play is full of festive feeling, ghostly encounters, hardship and redemption. The New York studio’s cast bring dozens of Dickens’ Victorian characters to life as the familiar story unfolds, and three ghosts take Ebenezer Scrooge on a journey to teach him the true meaning of Christmas.
Lighthouse Theatre is a Wales-based touring theatre company run by co-directors, Sonia Beck and Adrian Metcalfe, dedicated to producing character-driven interpretations of classic texts, screenplays and new writing.
A Christmas Carol – A Live Radio Play is adapted for the stage by Joe Landry with music by Kevin Connors, directed by Joe Harmston, and designed by Sean Cavanagh, with Foley artist and Musical Director, Kieran Bailey.
A Christmas Carol – A Live Radio Play is a Pontardawe Arts Centre and Arts Council Wales co-production, supported by Tŷ Cerdd.
