A sponsored walk has raised £5,000 for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Glangwili Hospital.

Chloe Pritchard organised the walk from the T1 Café in Llanelli to Burry Port and back again in memory of her sister, Debbie Hall Quinlan, as a thanks for the care she received in the ICU.

Chloe said: “We had a fantastic day walking from Llanelli to Burry Port and back again in April.

“It was such a great turn out with many people taking part. It was slightly challenging with the rain, but we did it in the end!

“Thank you to all who took part, everyone who donated, all the companies that sponsored a raffle prize, Morgan Marine from Llandybie for donating £250, and Brecon Carreg for sponsoring the water.”

Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
