I am one of many people who campaigned for the establishment of the Welsh Language Television Channel. I even went through the court system, with other patriots, for my actions. I’m proud it has turned out to be a general success, but all things have their faults and budget issues.  The recent top management problems came as a surprise to me, but now unravelled these issues seem to have been smouldering unresolved and covered up for a long time. Let’s hope those involved are all turfed out after a thorough and just investigation without huge public pay outs for misdemeanours.
The other issue has been excessive use of stale repeat programmes, probably cheap answers to the operating budget. This was really bad over Christmas. On Saturday we had a Noson Lawen, which was a compilation of previous Noson Lawen programmes. Horror to my horror that very same Noson Lawen, repeat of repeats programme, became, within two days,  the flagship programme for Christmas Day evening viewing. Come on S4C TV you really are pushing boundaries of tolerance. You must have a ‘library’ of better programmes you can use.
I am copying this to my five Senedd Members and M.P. in the hope they will do something to see we get value for our License Fees and better funding for S4CTV. I hope others will do likewise for what writing to an M.P. and Senedd Members is futilely worth these days.
I. Richard, Swansea.
