CETMA have once again been successful in receiving funding from Electrical Safety First to promote Electrical Safety in the home this winter.  Electrical Safety First is the UK charity committed to reducing deaths, injuries, and damage caused by electricity.

This winter CETMA will be:

  • working with local repair café’s, community hubs and community groups to PAT test items being brought in by members of the public and provide electrical safety awareness raising.
  • Providing free community PAT testing in our Centres in Kidwelly, Llanelli, and Swansea. Members of the public can bring in electrical items which will be PAT tested free of charge.
  • Carrying out a public electrical safety survey
  • Working with Red Brand Media to utilise their West Wales Chronicle, Swansea Standard, Carmarthenshire Standard and Llanelli Standard news websites to share electrical safety information.
  • Looking and searching for suitable case studies to help us promote the project.

CETMA Managing Director, Jonathan Williams said:

“We’re delighted to announce that we have received funding from @elecsafetyfirst Electrical Safety Fund!”

“This funding means we can once again promote Electrical Safety to our communities and help save lives.”

Any repair cafes or organisations in West Wales can contact CETMA to arrange for one of our PAT testers to attend their community events by contacting Emyr Evans via email at eevans@cetma.org.uk, ring 01554556996, choose Kidwelly or like and follow https://www.facebook.com/CETMACymru.

The project is running until March 2024 and the survey will be released in January 2024.
