Analysis of Google search data has revealed that online searches for “kids darts” have exploded by 852% worldwide since Luke Littler’s performance in the PDC World Darts Championship.
A new finding by multiplayer card game site World of Card Games has revealed that online interest for “kids darts” has increased almost ten times the average volume after the dart prodigy’s successes.
The 16-year-old’s astounding recent feats have inspired many parents across the globe to look into their child taking up the sport in the hope that they, too, might discover the next Luke ‘The Nuke’ Littler. Interest in the player himself has skyrocketed, with his Instagram following jumping by almost a quarter of a million since he started his winning streak in one of the most prestigious tournaments on the darting calendar. His earning potential from a sponsored Instagram post now stands at an astonishing £5,400.
Searches for “darts club” also jumped by 687% and searches for “dart shop” hiked by 265%.
A spokesperson from World of Card Games discussed the findings:
“Luke Littler’s talent and success has obviously been very inspiring for many fans of the sport and for people who may not have been interested in darts previously. It will be interesting to see how Luke’s darts career develops from here and if he is offered any lucrative sponsorship deals as a result of his success.”
“It is also fascinating to observe how parents have obviously watched Littler’s remarkable accomplishments at such a young age and want to see if their child could be the next darts sensation. Hopefully, Littler’s positive exposure for darts will increase participation and club membership around the world.”
