#1 – 27th July
The top spot for the most popular day to get married is 27th July. The month of July lands in the middle of the summer season, allowing everyone to enjoy the sun for longer and make the most out of the golden hour for stunning photos. Since this date also occurs during the hottest part of the summer, it’s undoubtedly appealing to couples. Over a 3-year period, between 2018 to 2020, 27th July witnessed 5,478 weddings.
#2 – 24th August
The second spot goes to 24th August, with 5,386 weddings. August is visibly a popular month for weddings, with seven of the ten most popular dates being in this month. The 24th August landed on bank holiday weekend between 2018-2020, making it perfect for couples; the long weekend gives couples the opportunity to celebrate for longer, and it gives their guests more time to enjoy the celebrations without worrying about having to leave early.
#3 – 3rd August
The third place goes to 3rd August, with 5,284 weddings. Summertime weddings often have vivid colour schemes that capture the spirit of the occasion; vibrant themes can be created with anything from bright flowers to upbeat décor.
#4 – 18th August
In fourth is 18th August, with 5,270 weddings. During the summer, gardens, parks, and outdoor venues are in full bloom, offering an incredible natural setting for your wedding photos.
#5 – 7th September
In fifth place is 7th September, with 5,263 weddings. An early September wedding could be a fantastic option if you’re looking for an autumnal wedding but still want to catch some late summer sunshine.

#1 – 25th December
The 25th December ranks as the least popular date to get married. In the time between 2018 and 2020, there were only 21 weddings; few people have ever really tied the knot on Christmas Day itself, despite the fact that it may sound like a wonderful idea as it is the season of hope and joy.
#2 – 26th December
Second on the list is the 26th December, with 33 weddings. Very few weddings take place on Boxing Day, due to lots of suppliers and venues being closed; however, a few do happen on this day, slightly more frequently than on Christmas Day.
#3 – 1st January
Another major holiday is New Year’s Day; between 2018-2020, only 60 couples tied the knot on 1st January. Couples looking at celebrating their big day at the start of the new year may be deterred since venues will be closed or pre-booked for New Years Eve parties.
#4 – 22nd April
Fourth on the list is 22nd April, with 294 weddings. April showers are a drawback of this particular date; rainy wedding photos may be a dream for some, but it’s not ideal for your wedding attire to be soaking wet.
#5 – 13th November
Fifth is 13th November, with 306 weddings. November can be extremely picturesque when there is frost on the ground, and perhaps even some icicles. Couples may also want to avoid this date due to the fact that 13 is considered to be unlucky.
Most popular day of the week to get married is Saturday
32,833 marriages took place on Saturdays between 2018 and 2020, making it the most popular day of the week to be married. A Saturday wedding has the benefit of having more guests who can attend and who are less time constrained – this means that you won’t have to worry about visitors leaving early and your wedding ceremony and reception can continue late into the night.
The second most popular day is Friday with 95,873 marriages taking place. Having a Friday wedding permits visitors who don’t have job commitments the following day to enjoy a longer celebration over the course of the weekend. As well as this, couples may save money because Friday weddings sometimes result in cheaper prices from venues and suppliers.
In third place is Thursday, with 52,422 marriages taking place. The special midweek celebration distinguishes itself from typical weekend gatherings, thus leaving a lasting impression. The longer weekend also lets guests unwind or travel following the celebrations.
A spokesperson for nodeposit365.co.uk commented on the findings: “The month of August is popular among couples, as shown in the rankings, with over half of the top dates being in that month. The combination of the warm weather and extended daylight hours create an incredibly vibrant and uplifting atmosphere, setting the stage for a celebration filled with joy and love.”
“However, August is an expensive month to get married in the UK because it’s wedding venue peak season. Couples may run into difficulties finding a venue, and the cost might be much higher than expected due to the higher demand.”
“On the other hand, a winter wedding has a unique charm and romantic atmosphere. Winter weddings frequently have the benefit of available venues and vendors, which can lower prices – so there are certainly advantages to both.”
