Police are investigating a report received on Thursday, 8th February that over 100 new screws had been found scattered on a slip road area in close proximity to the road where vehicles travel at high speed.

The screws were found in the overspill entrance to the Nantyci Showground  on the A40 dual carriageway near Carmarthen and posed a danger to all road users.

This is the second time in as many weeks and believed to be a deliberate act to damage police enforcement vehicles.

Anyone with information that could help officers with their investigation is asked to report it to Dyfed-Powys Police, either online at: https://bit.ly/DPPContactOnline, by emailing 101@dyfed-powys.police.uk, or by calling 101.

If you are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired text the non-emergency number on 07811 311 908.

Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555111, or visiting crimestoppers-uk.org.
