A new musical Feral Monster comes to Ffwrnes in Llanelli on 13 March at 7pm with acclaimed local actor Carys Eleri performing at Ffwrnes for the first time!

Feral Monster is a banging new musical celebrating teenagers and LGBT+ Wales, produced by National Theatre Wales.

The musical follows the story of unremarkable teen, Jax, as she/they/whatever navigates love, sexuality, identity, family and the many parts of her loud, opinionated brain.

Mashing up grime, R&B, soul, pop and rap, the soundtrack takes us from the high highs to low lows of the hormonal rollercoaster of adolescence.

The cast features Carys Eleri, a Welsh actress and singer, writer, composer and presenter who is from Tumble.

Carys has recently appeared as Delyth Fielding on Pobol y Cwm for BBC Wales, Nerys Evans in the BAFTA Cymru-winning feature film Y Sŵn for Cwmni Joio/S4C and as Ceri Jenkins in Save The Cinema for Sky Arts.

Carys Eleri says:
“This will be my first time performing at Ffwrnes, Llanelli – and it excites me so much! This show is made for Llanelli!

As someone who grew up in Tumble, I spent my youth shopping and visiting Theatr Elli to see shows and see films. Nowadays, Llanelli has an incredible state of the art theatre which all of us live artists can’t get enough of. Ffwrnes is so special, from its location to its unbelievable design. I love seeing shows there and this will be a very special time for me to perform for National Theatre Wales there.

Feral Monster is so unbelievably suited for this town. Full of grime, drum n bass, R&B, filled with complete joy while exploring the chaotic time of teenagers falling in love for the first time. The set is so sassy, the characters hilarious and the story so heartwarming. I can see this play set in somewhere like Bynea or Llangennech, somewhere on the outskirts of the town. I play several characters, from ‘Nan’ (the cheek!) to Connor, a 15 year old boy who just wants to party. Come join us – it’s a hoot.”

Tickets are priced at £8 for under 25s (£17 full price, £13 concessions) and can be booked online at www.theatrausirgar.co.uk or with the box office on 0345 2263510

Feral Monster is made by an all-LGBT+ creative team. This musical is written by Bethan Marlow and directed by Izzy Rabey, with music by Nicola T. Chang.
