Min y Môr Property Fire – 21-02-24

At 6.28pm on Wednesday, February 21st, the Llanelli, Tumble, Gorseinon, Pontiets, Carmarthen and Morriston crews were called to an incident in Min y Môr, Llanelli.

Crews responded to a fire within a two-storey domestic property measuring approximately 5m x 4m.  Crews utilised 14 breathing apparatus, two main jets, two hose reel jets, four thermal imaging cameras, two seven-metre ladders and one turntable ladder to extinguish the fire.  The property was completely destroyed by fire.  Crews left the scene at 10.49pm.

At 12.31am on Thursday, February 22nd, the Llanelli crew reattended the scene due to a reignition of the property’s roof joists.  Crew members utilised one hose reel jet, one seven-metre ladder and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.  A reinspection was arranged for later this morning.

At 5am a reinspection of three properties was held using thermal imaging cameras, no hot spots were found.  Dyfed-Powys Police were also in attendance and are maintaining a presence at the scene.
