Cil-y-Cwm Property Fire – 26/02/24

At 10.04pm on Monday, February 26th, the Llandovery and Llanwrtyd Wells crews were called to an incident near Cil-y-cwm.

Crews responded to a fire within a domestic bungalow measuring approximately 20m x 8m.  Crews utilised two breathing apparatus sets, one hose reel jet and two thermal imaging cameras to extinguish the fire, as well as one positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the property.  Crews also monitored the levels of CO₂ within the property.  The property’s one occupant was already outside on the arrival of crews.

The fire was caused by an electrical fault within the property’s airing cupboard.

Crews left the scene at 11.46pm.
