A new consultation has been launched, inviting members of the public to have their say on the opportunities and challenges facing the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and how best to care for this iconic landscape over the next five years.

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority is reviewing the current National Park Management Plan (2020-2024) and is keen to gather the thoughts of residents and visitors on the National Park’s special qualities, to help shape the next Plan, for 2025-2029.

The National Park Management Plan is a partnership plan for the National Park area, which is developed and reviewed every five years. It’s a way of co-ordinating the effort of many organisations and individuals who work together to support National Park purposes of conservation, enjoyment and understanding.

As part of the current review, participants will be asked what makes the National Park special for them and what needs to be done to protect and restore these special qualities. All feedback will contribute towards the development of the next National Park Management Plan. A draft version of this will be open for public consultation over the summer.

Chief Executive of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, Tegryn Jones, said: “The Management Plan will have a significant influence on the National Park over the coming years, affecting a wide range of issues within our Park communities, which is why we hope that as many people as possible will take this opportunity to share their views and help shape its future.”

The full consultation, which can be completed in either Welsh or English, is available online at www.pembrokeshirecoast.wales/public-consultations. Comments on the special qualities of the Park, along with what needs to be done to protect and restore them, are also welcome in writing and should be emailed to parkplan@pembrokeshirecoast.org.uk, or sent by mail to Park Plan Survey, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, Llanion Park, Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire, SA72 6DY.

The closing date for responses is 5pm on Friday 19 April.
