Llais joins forces with The Bevan Commission to accelerate the involvement of communities in shaping future health and social care solutions
In response to the pressing challenges faced by health and social care services, Llais and the Bevan Commission are taking proactive steps towards shaping the future of health and social care services in Wales.
Together, they are embarking on a three-year commitment aimed at reshaping services with a people-first approach.Their collaboration is rooted in shared principles of being respectful, honest, and committed to working together.
Alyson Thomas, Chief Executive of Llais, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating:
“This Compact shows our commitment to using our combined strengths and engaging communities from all sectors in shaping future services. We want to see a responsive and fit-for-purpose health and social care system that meets the needs of all individuals for generations to come.”
Medwin Hughes, Chair, Llais, said: “We will continue working with organisations that have trusted relationships with underrepresented groups. We want to ensure that everyone’s voice in Wales is heard regarding their care. Therefore, using our shared networks we can encourage more people, in more places, to have their say.”
Dr Helen Howson, Director of the Bevan Commission said:
“Working together sharing skills, insights and expertise will be key to helping us find sustainable solutions to meet the health and care needs of people across Wales. This Compact will do just this, by building on our recent work with Llais in our ‘Conversation with the Public’ involving over 2000 people about their views and ideas. It marks the next step of our journey towards inclusive, responsive and citizen-led health and care solutions for Wales which we look forward to progressing.”
The Compact will build upon the existing working relationship, further enabling the organisations to share knowledge, skills, and resources.
