With the weather warming up for summer, it’s important drivers make checks in their vehicles to ensure they’re ready and their car is ready for the heat. Richard Evans, head of technical services at webuyanycar comments:

“As the weather starts heating up for summer, it’s important drivers check their car’s fluid levels including coolant, oil and air con to maintain the vehicle’s running order. Our research showed that generally drivers do check their car’s oil and engine coolant levels, however, around one in ten (9%) never check oil and 13% never check engine coolant levels.

“By not ensuring things like oil and engine coolant are at a sufficient level on a regular basis, drivers can put their car at a higher risk of breaking down. Regularly checking the coolant level will alert drivers to any leaks which could result in the engine overheating. Whilst some cars have sensors to warn when fluids are low, it’s always worth checking directly to spot any leaks or levels dropping. And, with the weather starting to heat up, giving the air con a service will ensure cool air is steadily running through the car.

“Taking care of a vehicle can help drivers maintain their car’s condition for longer which can help when it comes to selling or to save them from costly and unnecessary repairs. Our guide on car heaters and air con will help drivers understand how they can use them efficiently in their car.”
