Welsh Cycling are gearing up for their annual Welsh Road and Time Trial Championships, which will take place at Three Cocks, Brecon, on the 31st August and 1st September 2024. Riders from across the country battle it out each year for the famous Welsh Championships jersey.

Welsh Cycling’s Head of Events, Andrew Minshaw said: We are thrilled to announce the Welsh Road Race & Time Trial Championships for 2024. Based on a packed weekend, we will have riders competing to wear the red jersey as Welsh Champion for the time trial and road disciplines. “We are also delighted to invite fellow female competitors from the South & Southwest regions as we host the regional championships for female racers in conjunction with our Welsh Women’s Road Championships.”

The routes

The Time Trial will be held on a fast flat course consisting of 24.5km/15.2 miles, starting at Three Cocks and finishing at Glasbury.

The Women’s & Vets Road Race will consist of 5 laps, giving a total of 44.7 mile/72 km, passing beautiful Welsh countryside, and finishing just outside of Three Cocks, where the riders will be more focused on the finish line than the panoramic views!

The Junior/Senior road race takes place on a slightly different version of the course but will still retain its beauty and provide some challenging racing. They will fight it out over 7 laps, culminating in 69.2 miles/111 km of pure racing.

Both the Road Race and the Time Trial can be entered here and here. But if you’re not planning to race, why not come along and join the route to watch what will be some exciting racing.
