The British classic “Ask your mother” was revealed as the Wales’ most widely used dad phrase with half of the Welsh (51%) revealing the phrase regularly leaves their Dad’s mouth.
With the UK still experiencing a ‘cost of living crisis’, it’s no surprise that Dad likes to regularly remind us of this with “Money doesn’t grow on trees” (38%) and “I’m not made of money” (35%) ranking second and third.
Other classic phrases to appear on the UK’s dad phrase dictionary include “As long as a piece of string” (25%) and “It’s like Blackpool illuminations in here” (26%).
Commenting on the research a spokesperson at thortful said “Across the UK you’ll find those common phrases that leave the mouths of Dad across the country on a regular basis. We wanted to help Brits speak their Dad’s language this Father’s Day with our exclusive range of Dad phrase cards.”
