“I’m very happy to see that the River Warren has been designated as a bathing water, it’s something that I and others have been campaigning on for a long period of time and I would like to thank all of those who continue to work hard to make sure that this works for both the local community and bathers.

This is only the beginning; we want to see Blue Flag status for other bathing spots in rivers across Wales.

It is time we got tough on polluting and profiteering water firms. Conservative MPs and Welsh Labour Ministers have stood by whilst swimmers have become ill and wildlife killed by sewage discharges.

The Liberal Democrats have committed themselves to cleaning up our waterways and tackling sewage polluters by replacing Ofwat with a more effective and stricter regulator.”
