Fundraiser runs Llanelli 10k for Breast Care Unit

Wendy Edwards who took part in the Llanelli 10k and raised £604 for the Breast Care Unit at Prince Philip Hospital. 

Wendy said: “I wanted to give a little something back for the amazing treatment I received for breast cancer last year.

 “It was a lot of fun, and most importantly very rewarding. I was so happy and appreciative to receive so much support from family and friends in raising money for such a great cause.” 

Saira Khawaja, Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, said: “I would like to thank Wendy Edwards for taking the time and effort to raise funds for the breast care unit.  

“With the help of the community and their fundraising, we will continue to persevere with the best possible care for our patients using the latest equipment.” 

Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to Wendy for taking part in the Llanelli Half and raising such a fantastic amount.

“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
