Llandyfaelog is a tiny hamlet on the eastern side of the Tywi estuary, surrounded by green fields. It also happens to be the place picked by National Grid for a major new energy hub termed by Green Gen Cymru “a substation near Carmarthen”
Two new lines of pylons, down the Tywi and Teifi valleys, will bring electricity to a new substation near the transmission lines to Swansea. A second substation and line of pylons will take power up to Carmarthen. Carmarthen BESS, no, not a loyal sheepdog, but a battery storage park will sit alongside. Sooner or later there will no doubt be a huge solar park
All on (literally) greenfield sites
Shame! Weep for Llandyfaelog
