August 9 deadline nears for input on proposed changes to system

The Seafish Board’s formal consultation on proposed changes to the Seafish levy is set to end at 5pm this Friday.

The views of the seafood industry are important and there is still time to let Seafish know what you think.

The proposed changes include increasing rates for existing species, applying an annual uplift and including imported canned, bottled, and pouched products in the levy.

This statutory consultation, which has been running since mid-May, will end on August 9 so there is still time for those with an interest to submit feedback through an online survey.

Full information on the review, the changes that are being proposed, the benefits industry receives from the Seafish levy and a link to the consultation survey is available via Seafish levy review | Statutory consultation | Seafish

Once the formal consultation process ends the Seafish Board will review the responses before making recommendations to Ministers on a final package of changes.
