The highest mountain in Wales, the 1,085 summit is not only tall but apparently ready for the gram, with a whopping 544,313 posts using the hashtag #snowdon! The beautiful peak and the surrounding area is a well loved holiday destination with plenty of hotels and holiday cottages to stay in, so it’s no surprise it attracts visitors from all over the world, all waiting to get the perfect picture!

Taking second in the rankings is Ben Nevis in Lochaber in Scotland, aka the tallest mountain in the UK at  1345m. The peak, just north of the town of Fort William, has a racked up 283,297 posts on Instagram, with tourists and locals alike keen to share the stunning natural beauty of the summit. A popular destination for walkers and climbers keen on conquering the UK’s tallest peak as well as being known for its natural beauty, it’s no surprise the mountain comes so high in the rankings.

Coming in third place with 188,216 posts on Instagram is Pen Y Fan, in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) national park. The second Welsh mountain to make the top 3, Pen Y Fan might be smaller than Snowdon but the peak still boasts extraordinary beauty, with panoramic views of the surrounding park.
