I think that there could be cross border cups between Scotland and Wales at club football at male, female, and age grade level.
The top Welsh and Scottish sides could play each other, at men’s, women’s, and Youth Cup level. For instance I think a good idea would be to have a Super Cup style trophy played between the champions of the Scottish and Welsh Women’s Football Leagues, each season. Scotland has some big sides at Women’s Football such as Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow City, Glasgow Rangers, Aberdeen, and Hibernian.
Wales has some big sides such as Cardiff City, Wrexham, and Swansea City.
The tournament could be a one match trophy held each year, between the champions of Scotland and Wales.
It could have a alternating host country. With one of the participating teams being the host. The host team could choose the location. Perhaps their main or another local stadium.
The game could be on broadcast television.
Scotland and Wales are two of the nations of Great Britain with rich histories at Football. They could help the leagues grow.
Wales and Scotland have growing Women’s Football set ups.
This could be done at different age grades also.
But the major trophy could be at first class level. Perhaps the the Scottish Champions v the highest placed Welsh side in the English leagues.
For instance the winners of Scottish and Welsh Youth Cups could play each other.
Or a Scottish – Cymru Youth Cup could consist of a annual match between the winners of the Scottish Youth Cup, and the Welsh team that get furthest in the FA Youth Cup, or the winners of the Welsh Youth Cup.Ā With Scotland and Wales taking it in turn to host each year.
