Fundraiser raises over £1,600 in memory of her father

Ellie Shaw-Jones braved a charity skydive and raised £1,620 for the Chemotherapy Day Unit and Ty Bryngwyn Hospice at Prince Philip Hospital.

Ellie took the leap on 26^th July 2024 in memory of her father, Terry Jones, who was a porter at Prince Philip Hospital for over 40 years.

Ellie said: “My wonderful Dad, Terry Jones (Skin), sadly lost his courageous battle with cancer on the 16^th April 2022. Daddy worked as a porter in the old Llanelli General and then Prince Philip Hospital for 40 years but sadly had to finish when he was given his devastating diagnosis.

“I’m safely back down to earth after such a wonderful, unforgettable experience. I would like to thank every single one of you that has kindly donated to me.

“Thanks to Hywel Dda Health Charities for all your support with the fundraising and a massive thank you to everyone at Go Skydive Swansea for keeping me safe and making the experience so amazing. And the biggest thank you to my Mum, Sarah, for buying me the skydive gift for my birthday and helping me raise the incredible amount of £1,620 for the Chemotherapy Day Unit and Ty Bryngwyn Hospice in memory of my wonderful Dad.”
