InterTabac 2024 grows to include over 180 exhibitors in the vaping segment

Vaping products are enjoying growing popularity among consumers and have now become firmly established in the tobacco industry. Accordingly, the segment will also be featured at this year’s InterTabac and InterSupply between 19 and 21 September and will be examined more closely in the supporting programme. And to top this off, interesting vape-related side events will also be offering additional information and insight. These will include features such as the new ‘InterTabac World Alternative Awards’ which will be honouring next-generation products (NGPs) such as vaping products.

Dortmund, 5 September 2024 – This year’s twin shows InterTabac and InterSupply will be featuring not just the classic segment, but also the vaping market, with over 180 exhibitors from many different countries taking part in Dortmund. These include businesses like Vapour International from Croatia, Chinese manufacturers Voopoo and UwellThe House of Smoke/La FuméCIRAK Electronics GmbH and NCS Vape GmbH from Germany, Airscream UK Ltd from Great Britain and VGOD from the US.

Trends, sustainability and more
Vaping products and NGPs will also be out in force at the twin shows’ event and conference programme where experts and industry players will be convening in various settings to discuss key topics such as innovation, research and development, sustainability and harm reduction.

Maaran Nadarajah, Innovation Director at Filtrona, will address the topic of innovation and future opportunities in his contribution entitled ‘From Disruption to Opportunity: The pivotal role of players in shaping the future of nicotine industry’. He has over 25 years of experience in the tobacco and nicotine industry and will be analysing the transformation of the nicotine industry in the London Room at 14:00 hrs on Day 1 of the shows, highlighting new product categories and changing consumer wishes as well as strategic innovations. This will be followed by the panel discussion ‘Future of Nicotine Technologies: Innovations and Advances in NGP Products’ chaired by Marc Reisner, editor-in-chief of trade journal DTZ. The panel will include Dr Carl Meinhart, Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Ramin William Warda, COO of Vont, Dustin Dahlmann, President of the Independent European Vaping Alliance and Chairman of the Alliance for Tobacco-Free Enjoyment (BfTG), and Dr Mark Forster, Scientific Services Manager at British American Tobacco.

Friday, on the other hand, will be all about sustainability and harm reduction. Also in the London Room, Alessandra Villa, Head of International Sales and Business Development at Vapour International, will be presenting the path to sustainability and greater environmental responsibility for the KIWI product portfolio starting at 13:30 hrs. Afterwards, David Yu from trade magazine 2FIRSTS will discuss the role of the media in a short presentation entitled ‘The Role and Value of News Media in E-Cigs Harm Reduction’ and will then guide the trade audience through further presentations.

Firsts in the event line-up
There will also be a lot going on at the side events in terms of vaping and NGPs, with the final of Mission Mixologist – which has already thrilled the audience at EVO NXT – being held at the twin shows for the first time with six candidates competing against each other on stage in the North Entrance complex on Saturday at 13:30 hrs to create the best liquid flavour composition. Another first will be the ‘InterTabac World Alternative Awards’, the first award ceremony exclusively for alternative nicotine products.
