The largest toothbrush, wacky cars, talented doggies and super strength – its Guinness World Records 2025!

GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS (GWR), the global authority on record-breaking achievements, announces that GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS 2025 (GWR2025) is available in stores and online across the UK today. 

Looking ahead to their 70th anniversary in 2025, Guinness World Records opens a new chapter of record breaking with the latest edition of their famous annual. Amongst its 2,115 records are an array of new, talented individuals that show what incredible looks like across the world today.

From The UK, dogs Bonnie and Simba and their owner Olga Jones from Reading, have leapt into the record books with four Guinness World Records titles including Fastest time to complete 10 side leapfrog jumps by two dogs.  Meanwhile, Ruth Amos, 34 & Shawn Brown 33, from Sheffield, have created the Largest electric toothbrush, affectionately named George as a homage to the 11-year-old who submitted the idea to their YouTube channel, Kids Invent Stuff. In Ireland, 15-year-old, Cillian O’Connor has made his way into the book with his record for the Most magic tricks performed in one minute (under 16’s). Cillian is one of 8 others who feature in our Young Achievers chapter, highlighting the incredible talents from children around the world. 

Other amazing records across the globe include the Most backside 540 skateboard tricks in one minute, Ema Kawakami (JAP) and Largest hands and feet on a teenager, Eric Kilburn (USA). Also records from our impairments classifications including Most backward walkovers in 30 seconds (II2) & Most kips in 30 seconds (II2) & Most backwards handsprings in 30 seconds (II2), Chelsea Werner (USA) and Heaviest single repetition weighted pull up in a wheelchair, Adnan Almousa Alfermli (SYR). 

The record-breaking superstars revealed today include: 

Olga, 45, from Reading, has enjoyed training animals since she was a child, including dogs, cats, hamsters and even a praying mantis.  She sees trick training as a way of communicating with animals and building a shared understanding and a joint language. Bonnie and Simba know more than 200 tricks each and Olga says that while she suggests some tricks, the dogs suggest others themselves. They have quite different personalities, Simba is friendly, happy, and loves being the centre of attention as he gets on with everyone straight away. He loves playing running and catching balls and playing hide and seek. Bonnie has an “exceptional nose” and is great at searching for things and people and follows Olga around everywhere. Olga, Bonnie and Simba are currently working on attempting even more records, building on Simba’s and Bonnie parkour skills, as well as some recycling-related ideas.    

16-year-old, Eric, from Michigan, has the largest hands and feet on a teenager. He currently wears a size 23 shoe and hasn’t had a pair of gloves fit him for many years. Eric knew from a young age that he was different to his peers, feeling like he was taller and larger than them from as early as kindergarten. Most of his friends and family are used to his size. He says, “I am just regular Eric to them.” However, they do like to try on his shoes! Strangers are usually amazed and tend to stare, whisper, or ask questions. Eric’s advice to anyone with unique physical attributes is that “It is okay to stand out. It can be hard to deal with people staring or asking questions at times, but it gives you more opportunity to meet really great people.” 

Sabrina Dausman, 27 from Illinois, saw “Fern the Valentine’s Fox” at Walmart in January of 2018 and that’s where it all began. Now, 6 years later, with 1,528 Squishmallows in her collection, she has the largest collection in the world. Sabrina has loved collecting things her entire life, particularly stuffed animals. She still has her special stuffed animals from her childhood, including a couple of Webkinz and Build-A-Bears, but she started growing her personal collection of stuffed animals when she was in college and had a job. Around the same time, she found out about Squishmallows and she says, “it was just meant for me to collect them!” Her favourite Squishmallow is Sam, a dog that looks exactly like her childhood dog Luca. Luca was her best friend, so having a Squishmallow that looks like her makes Sabrina feel like she is still with her. Sabrina loves being part of the Squishmallows community and plans to continue collecting and creating her own custom Squishmallows in the future. 

Sudhakar Kanyaboyina, 68, runs the Sudha Cars Museum in Hyderabad, India. The cars come in all manner of unusual shapes and sizes resembling everyday objects, from basketballs and cricket bats to chess boards and snooker tables. The museum, which has been open for 24 years, sees more than 1000 visitors every day who come to marvel at the wacky collection, including children on school trips from all over India. His inspiration behind the project stems from childhood dreams of turning everyday items into wacky cars. To this day, he says he feels “as excited as a young child” when working on a new car, with the same sense of enthusiasm continuing to drive him. The basketball-shaped car is a particular favourite of his, as a passionate player himself While visitors’ favourites include the toilet-shaped car and the vehicle shaped like a swan adorned with dragons and lilies. He plans to keep crafting more vehicles in future with a goal of reaching 100and future ideas including a car shaped like a bride with a veil.   

Ruth, 34, and Shawn, 33, run a YouTube channel called Kids Invent Stuff, which takes amazing kids’ ideas and brings them to life. The giant toothbrush was suggested by eleven-year-old George, who it has also been named after! It took about five days to bring George’s idea to reality and since then they’ve had lots of practice to brush things, chop things and even to trim the branches of a tree! With a library of tens of thousands of kids’ invention ideas that they’ve been sent from around the world, they say many of them may have record-breaking potential.
