Comedian and Strictly sensation Chris McCausland has quickly become a fan favourite on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, raising public awareness of visually impaired issues whilst winning over audiences with his charm and humour.

And now there’s a way for shoppers inspired by his performance to show their support and generate free donations for their favourite blind charity or good cause – including causes local to them. Simply by doing your online shopping via easyfundraising’s website or app, you can generate free donations at no extra cost.

To date, online shoppers have raised over £19,000 for visually impaired charities and good causes simply by online shopping through easyfundraising

With McCausland becoming one of the most popular celebs on the show, success will only help to drive more people to get involved and make their purchases count.

Through online purchases shoppers have been able to support causes across Wales:

Cumbria – DeafVision are receiving microdonations to continue providing high quality services through easyfundraising

Wales Council of the Blind have received over £430 so far

North Wales Accessible Holidays FBVI have received over £350

These good causes and charities like many across the UK rely on fundraising to further their missions and support their local communities.

In recent years, many groups are turning towards microdonations to secure unrestricted funding – where percentages of everyday online purchases are donated to causes, all at no extra cost to everyday shoppers.

Getting started with easyfundraising is simple: just visit the easyfundraising website or download the app and find a good cause you’d like to support. Then just press on one of over 8,000 retailers you’d like to shop with and make a purchase, where a cashback donation is generated courtesy of the retailer.

James Moir, CEO of easyfundraising, says: “McCausland’s stellar performances on our Saturday night screens have put the spotlight on giving individuals who may have an impairment the opportunity to shine. Blind people in our communities rely so much on charities and groups to be able to live life to the full and we give everybody the chance to support such organisations simply by shopping through easyfundraising

It may be a takeaway order to enjoy while watching Chris and other celebs shimmy on a Saturday which raises a donation, or maybe a new TV purchase itself!

We know Brits are finding more and more of their budgets squeezed, and its becoming harder to afford to give to your favourite charities and good causes – but through the power of microdonations you can donate at no extra cost. We’d urge every Strictly fan to get involved.”
