In a heartwarming effort to bring the community together and provide essential services, Haverfordwest Town Council will host a special event once a month until March 2025. The event, titled “Feed the Community,” will offer residents a variety of free services, including hot meals, haircuts, activities for all ages, and support from local professionals/organisations & charities, including Dyfed-Powys Neighbourhood Watch, PAVS, PATH & many more.
Organised by Main Scheme Coordinators of Haverfordwest Neighbourhood Watch and Councillors Randell Thomas-Turner & Dani Thomas-Turner, this event aims to foster a sense of community while addressing some of the basic needs of residents. “We & the town councillors understand that many in our community are struggling, and we want to create an inclusive space where everyone can come together, find support and enjoy some time together” said Ajay Owen, Chair & Development Lead of Dyfed-Powys Neighbourhood Watch.
Participants will enjoy a hot meal prepared by Ben & Ellie Gobbi from “The Box Events & Catering,” ensuring that no one has to worry about where their next meal will come from. Alongside the meals, the local barbers will be providing free haircuts, helping individuals look and feel their best.
For families and children, a range of fun activities will be available, including arts and crafts stations and more. This event aims to provide a welcoming atmosphere for everyone, with special attention to creating family-friendly spaces.
Additionally, local professionals from various sectors, including health, finance, and mental well-being, will be on hand to provide free advice and support. “We are bringing together experts who can offer guidance and advice on important issues, such as job readiness, mental health, crime prevention and financial planning. Our goal is to empower our community,” both Randell & Dani Thomas-Turner said.
The organisers invite everyone, regardless of their situation, to come out and enjoy a day filled with community spirit. No registration is required, and all services will be offered for free to all.
This is about coming together as a community. It’s vital that we support one another, especially during challenging times. The event is planned to encourage everyone to stop by, grab a meal, and participate in the festivities.
The event promises to be a day of joy, comradery, and support for all Haverfordwest and surrounding residents. Mark your calendars for November 14, and come ready to enjoy a wonderful day of community engagement!
The dates planned are the following: 14th November, 12th December, 16th January, 13th February, 13th March – all held at HaverHub in Haverfordwest between 2:30pm & 5pm. For more information, or if you’re a business in Haverfordwest that wants to register your interest in participating at this event, please email ri.thomasturner@gmail.com or dani.thomasturner@gmail.com.
