Dear Editor,

When a child learns to read, it opens up a whole world of opportunities for them and often allows them to escape daily problems through their imagination.

In the month of December, the creators of Mrs Wordsmith’s Word Tag app have pledged to donate all proceeds from subscriptions to the NSPCC.

Most of the children’s charity’s income comes from donations from the general public and partnerships such as these.

Word Tag is designed to teach children new words and improve their reading skills. Aimed at seven-to-13-year-olds, 20 minutes of play on the app each day can help children learn up to 1,000 new words a year.

This great partnership will raise funds for vital NSPCC services like Childline, while also promoting a game that will help children learn to read – something young people tell us they use to escape difficult elements of their life.

Yours,

Tom Crompton
