Works Scheduled from January 2025 to March 2025.

Carmarthenshire County Council would like to inform the public of upcoming vegetation removal works planned at Carmarthen Castle. These essential works are scheduled to begin in January 2025 and are expected to continue until March 2025.

The project aims to preserve and protect the historic structure of Carmarthen Castle by addressing overgrown vegetation that may compromise the integrity of the site. Working with a contractor experienced in maintenance work at historical landmarks, careful measures will be taken to minimise disruption, and the works will be carried out with sensitivity to the historical significance of the castle and its surroundings.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Culture, Leisure and Tourism, Cllr Hazel Evans commented:

We are committed to keeping all surrounding businesses and residents informed throughout the process. Updates will be provided as necessary to ensure transparency and to address any potential concerns.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain and protect this important landmark.

This work is being funded through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
