As part of ensuring preparedness, Dyfed-Powys Police along with partner agencies, will be carrying out a multi-agency exercise to check and test emergency response plans, protocols and procedures in the event of a major incident, on Tuesday February 4, 2025 at the Gwili Railway site in Abergwili. A large number of partner agencies representatives will be in attendance and participating in the exercise, including Dyfed-Powys Police, Carmarthenshire County Council, Hywel Dda University Health Board, Glangwili Hospital, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, and Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust.
This means increased levels of activity may be seen in the area and around Glangwili Hospital on this day, between the hours of 8am and 6pm but please be assured there is nothing to be alarmed about.
Arrangements for the exercise will commence on Monday 3 February at the site, and the public are asked to please avoid the area on the Monday through to the Friday. There will be no public access to the site during this time.
We would like to reassure everyone in the area that all the increased activity seen in the area at this time will be part of a pre-planned, coordinated exercise, and there is no cause for concern.
If anyone has any queries, please contact Chief Inspector Tim Davies, online https://bit.ly/DPPContactOnline, email 101@dyfed-powys.police.uk, or call 101.
