- NSPCC Cymru and NPTC Group of Colleges launch new partnership to promote volunteering opportunities
- Colleges will support children’s charity with fundraising and volunteering
One of Wales’ largest colleges is teaming up with the UK’s leading children’s charity to support students access volunteering opportunities.
A new partnership will see NSPCC Cymru provide workshops, information and opportunities to students across NPTC Group of Colleges at Neath, Afan, Brecon Beacons and Newtown Colleges.
Meanwhile NPTC Group of Colleges will be supporting the children’s charity with fundraising and volunteering.
Carl Harris, Assistant Director at NSPCC Cymru, said: “We are thrilled to establish this partnership with NPTC Group of Colleges, one of the largest Further Education providers in Wales, to help us reach more children and young people in Wales.
“Volunteering is a great way for students to get involved in the community, gain new skills and training, as well as being interesting and rewarding.
“NSPCC Cymru and NPTC Group of Colleges are both committed to working through real and effective partnerships, and we hope this is the beginning of something very special.
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of the NSPCC and with the support of NPTC Group of Colleges we hope to engage more volunteers in our fight for every childhood.”
As well as highlighting the help and support young people can access through services at NSPCC Cymru, the partnership will support students to gain new skills, confidence and experience to help with their career development.
An event to launch the partnership was held at Neath College on Friday, February 7.
This will be followed by NSPCC Cymru delivering workshops to students across the four colleges at the beginning of March
