Llandovery Farmers Market begins its 2025 season on Saturday 5 April from 10am till 2pm on Llandovery’s historic Market Square. Customers can expect a range of local produce from within 25 miles of town with live entertainment through the day. In 2025 the market will be recognised as a Real Farmers Market and is engaging in community events like Llandovery in Bloom and Pride 2025. The market will run on the first Saturday of the month from April to October.
Market Manager Raoul Bhambral is thrilled,
“The market was such an amazing project last year it is great it is happening again – it had so much support from customers, traders, local musicians and businesses alike.
This year is going to be extra important too as we await our certification as a ‘Real Farmers Market’. This is a new initiative by the Farm Retail Association. It will give customers confidence that most stallholders come from the local area and that they sell produce that they have grown, reared or produced themselves.
The market already does all that! So getting this extra recognition will be a big boost to the market and all its traders, as well as for local businesses in Llandovery!”
Delicious local produce
Llandovery Farmers Market traders will bring a range of food and drink, including green shoots, microgreens and veg from Black Mountain Itals, sheep’s cheese from Ffynnon Wen, goat’s cheese from our new stallholder Bryngaer Goats, Garreg Fechan Honey, charcuterie from The Baker’s Pig, beef from The Welsh Farm, lamb, mutton and pork from The Tegfan Farm, gluten-free Tasty Local Cakes and jams, chutneys and preserves from JAR’d.
Handcrafted wooden kitchenware, charcoal and biochar are available from Coed Allt Goch OPD – all from the land. Doggie Delights Pawlicious and their handmade chews and treats will be considered a great addition by the many canines who come to the market.
Customers can stock up on perry and ciders from Brecon Beacons Ciderand spirits and liquors from Papa Moonshine.
Snacks will be provided by Helen Thomas who brings her popular Scotch eggs, sausage rolls and pasties.
Ragged Robin Plant Nursery will bring pollinator-friendly plants to spruce up the garden and Simany’s Flowers will brighten up the house for Spring.
Involving the community
Local schools and buskers who would like to perform live at the market are encouraged to get in touch via its Facebook page or by emailing llandoveryfarmersmarket@gmail.com.
Raoul Bhambral said,
“Now the market is established we’d like to engage with the community even more. So if there are schools or community action groups who would like to be at the market, do get in touch.
We will also be hosting the Llandovery in Bloom Awards as well as Pride 2025, so it’s going to be an exciting year!”
