Hywel Dda University Health Board (UHB) is reminding Carmarthenshire residents to book a blood test appointment before attending – it’s never been easier.
Appointments can be booked via the health board’s website for blood tests in Llanelli (Dafen Mass Vaccination Centre), Ammanford (Amman Valley Hospital), and Carmarthen (Glangwili Hospital).
Appointments can also be booked over the phone for Llanelli or Ammanford by calling the Outpatients and Phlebotomy line on 0300 303 9642, and Carmarthen by calling the Communications Hub on 0300 303 8322.
Dylan Jones, Head of Pathology Services at Hywel Dda UHB, said: “It’s very important that people book an appointment for a blood test before attending when asked to have one by their GP or doctor.
“This can be done online or by phone, whichever is most convenient, allowing you to choose an available time and day that’s convenient. If something does crop up, as things do, you can give us a call to rearrange your appointment, no problem.
“And don’t forget to bring your blood test request form from your GP or doctor. Our phlebotomists will not be able to take your blood without this.”
A limited number of blood test appointments are also available for Llanelli residents who rely on public transport at Prince Philip Hospital. If you are unable to travel to Dafen Vaccination Centre for your blood test, please call 0300 303 9642 to book a test at the hospital.
