Morrisons shoppers who may have been left distraught by their decision to close 52 of their cafés are getting a warm welcome at Asda – just in time for Mother’s Day!
Asda is offering a free tea or coffee to anyone who shows their More Card at the counter in any of its 205 cafes this Sunday.
And if you’re planning spoiling mum this Mother’s Day it gets even better! Asda’s £4 Afternoon Tea deal includes a scone, jam, clotted cream, and a hot drink – or you can upgrade to a latte or cappuccino for just 55p extra.
The offer is valid this Sunday, 30 March, so More Card holders can enjoy a cosy cuppa while celebrating with mum.
Ian McEvans, Vice President of Commercial Food at Asda, said: “Cafés are an important part of the shopping experience for many of our customers, and we’ve demonstrated our commitment to our cafés over the years with popular deals like Winter Warmer and Kids Eat for £1.
“With our Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea deal running this Sunday, we wanted to take the opportunity to offer some reassurance to those Morrisons customers who may be losing their local café by welcoming them into Asda with a free brew on us.”
Asda is also reminding families who regularly dined with their children at Morrisons cafés that they won’t be left out in the cold. At Asda cafés, kids can eat for just £1—without the need to purchase an adult meal.
Ian McEvans, Vice President of Commercial Food at Asda, added: “With the Easter holidays approaching, we think it’s also important to remind customers who may have dined at those same cafés that kids can still eat for just £1 at Asda – with no need to buy an adult meal!”
