Help Us to Help Others: Join Llanelli’s Community Fridge Team!

At CETMA Llanelli, we run a variety of community driven projects, including the Llanelli Community Fridge, the Community Shop, the Databank, and digital support services, just to name a few.

Many of our dedicated volunteers also contribute their time and skills to Red Brand Media, a fellow non-profit social enterprise operating from the same building.

Behind the scenes, this hardworking team is busy providing services like web design, graphic design, social media management, video editing, and producing local publications such as The Llanelli Standard, Carmarthenshire Standard, and West Wales Chronicle, all while supporting CETMA’s projects.

As you can imagine, with some days staffed by just two team members, the workload can be overwhelming. This means we’re not always able to keep a constant watch over the Community Fridge and Shop, and that’s where we need your help!

Join Our Team as a Volunteer!

We’re actively looking for volunteers to help us run the Llanelli Community Fridge and Community Shop.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming visitors and guiding first-time users on how everything works.
  • Ensuring visitors complete the required form during each visit.
  • Keeping a supply of printed forms available.
  • Stocking the fridge and maintaining a clean, organised space.
  • Checking and recording fridge & freezer temperatures twice daily.
  • Accepting donations from generous community members.
  • Promoting the fridge on social media.
  • Ensuring all users follow the community fridge guidelines.

No experience? No problem! Training is available, and if you’re unable to perform certain tasks, we’re happy to work around it as our team supports one another.

What We Ask From You:

All we need is your enthusiasm for helping the community and a commitment to a regular shift each week. Even just a couple of hours on a set day would make a huge difference in keeping the Community Fridge running throughout the week.

Interested? Let’s Talk!
